Running Accomplishments:

Won Park City Marathon (tiny field, slow course, no purse) and Utah Grand Slam in 2006

Marathon: 2:37:04 (St. George 2009)

Short-Term Running Goals:

Train for as solid a race in Boston 2011 as my schedule will allow.  Accept the fact that there isn't room in my life to train for a breakthrough performance and do the best I can under the circumstances.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Lose the all-or-nothing mentality and start using running as an outlet instead of an additional source of stress.

Personal:

I'm married with 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls) and live in Salt Lake City, where I work as a real estate attorney.

Let me have men about me that are fat,
Sleek-headed men and such as sleep a-nights.
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look,
He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.

"Julius Caesar," Act I, scene 2, 190-95

23rd Loop 4, but ran into Ginger and ran ~2 miles at her pace. Soreness in right hamstring in location of old tear (1989) after run (none during), so stretched longer than normal.

Who is Ginger (sounds like she is fast if she gave you 2.66 fast miles)? Why only 5.66 miles today?

From Jed on Mon, May 15, 2006 at 13:22:40

Ginger is a friend from work who also runs. Actually, the 2 miles I ran with her were among the 3 I characterized as slow.

As for my mileage, the highest I've run in a week since starting marathons is about 60, so my mileage tends to be pretty low. In the 5 weeks between Moab and Ogden, my highest weekly mileage was about 45 (with a 20-mile long run). It worked so well that I was planning to follow a similar pattern leading up to SLC on June 3rd. What are your thoughts?

Welcome to the blog Jed. Sounds like your on the same "year on, year off" plan I've been doing the last couple years. Here's to injury-free running! Just stay away from that Grand Slam.
