Running Accomplishments:

Won Park City Marathon (tiny field, slow course, no purse) and Utah Grand Slam in 2006

Marathon: 2:38:02 (St. George 2006)

3 miles (High School XC): 15:41

1600: 4:29 (Soph Year of High School)

800: 1:58 (Sr Year of High School)

Short-Term Running Goals:

After battling injury for the past year or so, regain level of fitness I had in 2006. See what I can do in a marathon after a full season of training without having to worry about recovering for another marathon in 2-4 weeks. Try racing on the edge instead of conserving for the next race. Maximize performance with peak mileage of ~75 miles per week.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub-2:30 marathon on a respectable course.

Personal:

I'm married to Brooke.  We have 3 kids (Kaela - 10, Jacob - 9, and Jane - 2) and live in Salt Lake City. I work as a real estate attorney. I ran my first marathon in 2003 at St. George, where my goal was to qualify for Boston. I ran 2:53. My second was Boston in 2005, where I bonked horribly and barely finished. Decided to do 7 marathons in 2006 to try to figure out what worked for me in terms of preparation, hydration, nutrition, pacing, etc. Won the Grand Slam that year, but battled injuries throughout all of 2007 and wasn't able to race at all.

Ran to Murray to pick up Vespa. Easy pace, nice morning for a run. Mild AT pain.
